The Residence
Architectural Features
Built in 1965, Ke’s residence, despite its simplicity, has exquisite elements, as seen in its trim and handrails. The facade of the building is of the 60s’ architectural style, with vertical shades and large windows. The overall form was developed for its functionality. Although the residence itself does not have a long history, its former residents underwent a critical historical period in Taiwan. The political victim and his family’s experience added historical and cultural value to the building, which was later registered by the Bureau of Cultural Affairs, Kaohsiung City Government as a historical building in 2004, to honor this politically prosecuted Taiwanese intellectual.
